Initially, I came out of this restaurant thinking their food was the best thing since sliced bread... but after thinking on it for a while, I realize my opinion at the time was a bit inflated since I had been eating cafeteria fare from the Lincoln Minster School refectory for the previous several days.
Still, the food was tasty, and lunch prices are hard to beat. Their lunch menu includes a variety of main dishes from £3.95 to £6 to which you can add starters for an additional couple pounds. I got an order of naan and lentil soup for a starter and chose the King Prawn Sag for my main dish.
The naan was fresh and flaky and had what I think was coriander and garlic baked into it. The soup was delicious. When my main course came, I was already getting full from the naan and soup, but that didn't stop me from cleaning my plate. The Sag, which is a spinach based dish, though a little on the thick and pasty side, was good. I washed it all down with a refreshing gin and bitter lemon. -

This is the worst Indian I've ever been to. Scrap that, it's the worst restaurant I've ever been to. When we arrived (party of 13) they hadn't bothered to get our table ready, so we had to stand on the street for 15 mins while they did. We then sat down and badgered them for an hour before they would take our order. Our food arrived just over an hour later, so we had already been in the restaurant for two hours by the time we got any food.
I'd like to say that the food salvaged the evening, but unfortunately the madras I ordered resembled soup more than a curry, and my friend's vindaloo was exactly the same - plus it was about as spicy as a tikka massala!
We asked to speak to the manager, but according to the waiters he was hiding in the kitchen and refused to come out. We finally were given some money off our meal, but not nearly enough, and that was after they threatened to ring the police if we didn't pay up. Throughout our two and 3/4 hour stay, several people got up and left - some never even got a table, even though it had been booked. I would not recommend this place to anyone, but I'm guessing it won't stay open long if they carry on like this! God knows how it has managed to get 3 good reviews on here - maybe it's been taken over recently.
